The battlefield has changed.
In modern times, the great wars are all fought in the conference rooms and within the seemingly peaceful environment of the office. Words, subtleties (like memos, for instance) and hierarchies have replaced the sword and the gun as the weapons that can inflict damage.
And the enemy just might be everywhere; sometimes very much on your side and could actually be masquerading as your boss.
How does a young person cope with all of this?
Inspired by Don Bradman’s legendary quote about how ‘we owe it to the next generation’, I embarked on trying to give every poor new sod entering this hostile world a bit of hope and an unnecessary amount of perspective, to keep his backside from diminishing at an exponential rate (though if you are morbidly obese, that’s strictly not such a bad thing).
But, as you can see in the case of Ram Shankar, who symbolizes every gallant trainee entering the white collar workspace, anywhere across the world, things, however, are never that simple.
Even if there is a ‘storm of wisdom’ in every teacup.
