Hodder 20th Century History: The Great War

The Hodder 20th Century History series covers a range of topics at GCSE. The Great War was one of the most costly conflicts of the twentieth century and marked a transition from traditional fighting methods to modern, large-scale warfare.

This title examines the experience of the soldiers in the trenches and different aspects of warfare. Emphasis is given to different specific battles of the war including the Somme, Ypres and Jutland. It concludes with a new section looking at the Peace Settlement at the end of the war.
