I have welcomed, with enthusiasm, the opportunity to edit this very first edition of the textbook Gynecological Algorithms in Clinical Practice. I have tried to provide a text to help undergraduates, postgraduates, and practitioners to clarify their doubts and to organize some of the intricacies regarding the subject. I have assembled a group of contributors, nationally with an exceptionally broad range of backgrounds and similar interests. All the contributors have emphasized the latest clinical management approaches with deep understanding. I hope that the reader will enjoy being stimulated by the fascination and intellectual stimulation that comes from the study of gynecology. I wish to thank all the contributors who have submitted chapters for the reader’s pleasure, to impart their knowledge and to hopefully see this translated into high-quality clinical practice in a ready reckoner form. I would like to thank all the contributors whose contributions span the breadth of the field of Gynecology, and we hope that these individual chapters will stimulate the reader to a greater understanding and thereafter a healthy appetite for more knowledge. They have all contributed to the same goal, that is, to create a source of information that will help in the care of women from birth to menopause, including puberty, reproductive age group and perimenopause in algorithm form, to have a quick look in your outpatient department, wards and operation theater. I have tried to include problems of puberty, principles of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in gynecological cancers, basics of infertility, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy surgeries in gynecology.
